Vitamin
E
Although you may have never heard of
vitamin E, it does have a lot to offer the human body.
The fact of the matter is that vitamin E is not quite
as common as vitamin C or D. But with that being said,
it is every bit as important. If you do not take vitamin
E seriously you may end up endangering your well being.
Luckily, there is not much that goes into getting the
proper amount of vitamin E. As long as you know a bit
about this vitamin you should be able to get the recommended
daily dose, and in turn stay as healthy as you can.
Functions of Vitamin E
The main function of vitamin E is to
act as an antioxidant within the human body. You may be
asking yourself what this means, right? Generally speaking,
an antioxidant will help to protect your body from damage
caused by free radicals. When it comes down to it, vitamin
E is one of the most important antioxidants in the human
body. If free radicals are not protected against, harm
can be done to the tissue, cells, and organs. In addition,
vitamin E is essential to the formation of red blood cells.
Food Source
Vitamin E is found in a number of different
foods. They include corn, nuts, olives, seeds, leafy green
vegetables, and vegetable oil. As you can see, vitamin
E food sources are not something that a lot of people
are interested in. If this sounds like you, look into
getting the vitamin E that you need from a supplement.
