Inositol
Inositol is a member of the vitamin B
group that you have probably heard so much about. Even
though Inositol is not quite as common as some of the
other members of this group, it does help your body in
several different ways. You do not need to know a lot
about Inositol, but having a little bit of knowledge will
surely make things easier on you. Luckily, if you are
familiar with some of the other B vitamins learning about
Inositolis will be a piece of cake.
Functions of Inositol
There are many functions that Inositol is involved in.
Although it is not the only substance that helps in these
functions, it is very important nonetheless. First off,
Inositol is helpful in reducing cholesterol as well as
in breaking down fat. In addition to this function, Inositol
is an integral part of the cytoskeleton assembly. Inositol
also helps to control the intracellular calcium concentration
in the human body. These are three of the more common
functions of Inositol, but there are several others as
well.
Food Source
Even though Inositol is found in several different types
of food, there is one in particular that is most important.
Any cereals that have high brand content will also have
a lot of Inositol in it. So as you can imagine, if you
want to get the proper amount of Inositol all you have
to do is eat cereal with high brand content. It is as
easy as that.
